Backup & disaster recovery
A backup that has never been restored is a hope. Servers are protected with an appliance that keeps a local copy and a cloud copy and can boot a failed server as a virtual machine within an hour. Microsoft 365 mailboxes, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams are backed up daily, because Microsoft's retention is not a backup. Every quarter we restore real files, mailboxes and a server from each client's backup and send a signed report with the times.

Questions about backup & disaster recovery
What are the recovery targets?
For a protected server, boot as a virtual machine within one hour from a snapshot no more than an hour old. For Microsoft 365, mailbox or site restore within four business hours.
Is the Microsoft 365 backup really necessary?
Microsoft keeps deleted items for a limited time and does not protect against a compromised account purging data or a departed employee's files aging out. The backup is included on Secure and Complete.
Who owns the appliance?
You do if you buy it; we quote it at cost plus 8%. Monthly service covers the software, cloud storage and the restore tests.
